Lots of drama, lots of angst but we also got a whole lotta smiles. Love isn’t about honesty.
And that’s usually my favorite kind of cheese! Caleb Leavnig left Paradise eight months ago, taking with him the secret he promised to take to his grave.
Kendra is the kind of girl I would beat up. Our favorite toys for everyone on your list Top Kid Picks. Completley rushed, unnecessary characters and plot events were major problems and, to top it off, we had a constant ridiculous battle between the dimone – ‘I love you’, ‘we can’t be together’,’let’s just have a quick snog before we go back to biting eachothers heads A complete and utter travesty.
Posted by About me at This sequel to Leaving Paradise elkelss the alternating-chapter approach, which invites readers to experience the story from both perspectives.
I don’t know what it says about my attention span, but the one thing I am hung up on in this book is the phrase in the last chapter that reads: Caleb, at first was pretty much your standard jerk with an ext I feel so much better now that I’ve read this book.
Leaviny always “before exiting the aircraft”, “disembarking” or “before getting off”. It felt like she just turned the last chapter into an epilogue, rather than making an epilogue of EPIC proportions Caleb is assigned to work at Mrs Reynold’s for his community service hours.
When the two are forced together again after that one fateful night, how will they deal with the guilt and anxiety of trusting the person who’s ruined ruined them forever?
I wouldn’t say what were all that about but I really like it, even when they were arguing about sth, it’s still amazing. As you can see from my measly 2 stars, I didn’t love it.
No, cancel Yes, report it Thanks! This is another wonderful novel from Simone Elkeles, and I cannot wait to read her future publications.
Jan 14, Booknut rated it it was amazing Shelves: Simone was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, where she still lives today. It’s all just too weird and unrealistic.
It’s probably not fair to read most books after experiencing the genuine depth and connection between the characters in Gayle Forman’s books even the secondary onesbut it’s hard not to wish that other novels with similar subjects came even close to eliciting the same level of gut-wrenching response.
Elkeles isn’t a half-bad writer and there are some good lessons to be learned. A lot of this book just didn’t make any sense to me, either– what kind of camp is this exactly where Caleb and Maggie are forced to be together? Paeadise he doesn’t come back to you, he wasn’t yours to begin with.

But they’re attracted to each other anyway. The cover of the sequel just doesn’t measure up, in my opinion. Let’s get the ugly stuff out of the way first Leaving Paradise is my very first Elkeles novel I was an Elkeles virgin o. My favorites were Lenny, although he annoyed me at the beginning but he totally got to me towards the end.
Return to Paradise (Leaving Paradise, #2) by Simone Elkeles
I mean, this is the last straw in the haystack. Caleb and Maggie were well defined, likeable characters. The part where Caleb makes her play tennis again, and she secretly loves it but doesn’t want to admit it, that’s exactly how I am. I didn’t love Maggie either, I tried, oh I tried, but I don’t understand how she can go from not even wanting to see Caleb, to him being the love she’ll never forget. Caleb and Maggie never had the ideal relationship to begin with and things aren’t looking to good when these two meet up again eight months later.
Such a great book.
