So the Elder Gods go out to recruit mercenaries from other lands and thus the beginnings of an epic is born. There were some elements of humour, but there was a lot of repetition in the book. I mean, I can understand a chapter or two but the entire book’s dialog is just plain horrible. The characters had the same personality throughout most of the series, being almost indistinguishable through books 2 and 3.

The book is full of weird plot holes. I was hoping this book might be similar but I was disappointed. Most of Vlagh’s creations are vaguely insect-like, venomous and violent, although some creatures have been bred human-like enough to pass as humans and are exdings as spies.
