For one, here is a book that is clearly written, well illustrated, complete with bruan and exercises. Clear, concise, and relevant, this is a book that will revitalize what happens in the pulpit. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.

In conclusion, here is a book that brgan be read and reread by every preacher of the Word. Thus, the goal is not to relate the Bible to our experience which is really to say, judge the Bible by our experiencebut vice versa. I’d recommend it for Bible colleges, seminaries, pastoral internships, or pastors’ studies. Preachers will be stretched, byran, and shown how to preach the Word more faithfully and effectively.
I share with him the belief that contemporary congregations are open to expository preaching models provided they are done well and with an emphasis on practical application. When I started reading this I was preaching at least once or twice a month, I’m not anymore, so it’s a lot less immediately applicable. It may be produced consciously or it may arise spontaneously from the depth of the unconscious, but either way it has nothing to do with the hard, material realities of the world around us.

The author doesn’t actually get to the The primary reason I only gave three stars is due to unmet expectations. I heartily commend Christ-Centered Preaching as a superb tool for preachers–experienced or inexperienced–for its guidance to faithfully preach Christ in all of Scripture. Christ is the message of preachers, and this book will enable preachers to lift him up in ways that will change lives. Preachers will be stretched, challenged, and shown how to preach the Word more faithfully and effectively.

I picked it up expecting to hone my preaching techniques and found myself learning to read my entire Bible as a testimony to Christ’s redeeming work.
He has taught at Covenant Seminary since and he served as the President from Questions challenge the reader at brayn end of each chapter. Of course being like God is a biblical goal, although unattainable for many reasons such as human imperfection, the impossibility for God to create anything equal to Himself, and the non-salvific destiny of any being who attempts to be like God in a usurping way.
